Banda Neira or Banda Naira is one of the islands in the Banda Islands , and is the administrative center of Banda district , Central Maluku regency , Maluku , Indonesia . Administratively , Banda Neira is divided into six villages , namely Dwiwarna , Kampung Baru , Merdeka , Nusantara , Eagles , and Tanah Rata.

Topography of the island is flat , thus allowing the establishment of a small town . Banda Neira island has government offices , shops , docks , and airports . The island's population numbered 14,000 . Banda Neira to be center of world trade of nutmeg and mace , because of Kep . Banda is the only source of spices was valuable to the mid -19th century . The modern city was founded by members of the VOC , who massacred the people of Banda to get his head in 1621 and the remaining brought to Batavia ( now Jakarta ) to be used as slaves .

As a result of colonial Dutch islands , beautiful islands is dotted with Dutch colonial houses , many of which have survived due to the location of the colony deserted island . What's more , they are blessed with the most amazing view , especially the volcano called Gunung Api ( Fire Mountain ) , which has a beautiful interior lagoon .

The best weather to visit is from September to April , when the sea is calm , If you go sailing around the island , you will admire and see the amazing local wildlife , nutmeg plantation can visit and go diving - enjoy the coral reefs of the most beautiful , not to mention the most crystal clear water where you can bathe . To get there may require careful planning that , but this place is paradise world Bena .
